    Hadhafang Sword of Arwen
    $169.95 $149.95

Arwen's sword is called Hadhafang which means Throng-cleaver. It once belonged to the Elven Princess Idril, who wed a mortal man and bore Earendil, the father of Elrond who in turn was father to Arwen. Before Arwen's birth, Elrond wielded Hadhafang at the end of the second age of "Middle-Earth," during the Last Alliance of Elves and Men in the great battle against Sauron on the slopes of Mount Doom. Later his daughter, Arwen, used Hadhafang when she aided Frodo in his escape from the Ringwraiths. Inscribed on the blade are runes in the Elven language of Sindarin that say "aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen." Which transfers to "this blade is called Hadhafang, a noble defense against the enemy throng for a noble lady."

Hadhafang is in stock and ready to ship.

This word arrived yesterday and it is AMAZING. I didn't think it would be as awesome as it actually was. The picture does no justice for the actual sword. I recommend it highly!..

This sword most clearly resembles a di-katana, which would have a handle easily twice as long. If you grasp this sword with both hands, one hand directly in front of the handle, then you can get a true idea of its natural balance. Making a sweeping cut, and releasing your grip with the most forward hand allows you to reach forward in a classic kendo/kinjitsu movement. This is the most unique sword from LOR, a real eye catcher...

Where do you get your info Zach? I haven't ordered this piece but I noticed Zach's review and thought oppositely. If Hadhafang was meant to be a horse riding blade, then why did Elrond wield it on foot during the battle of the last alliance? I think the lord of rivendell could have found a blade meant for hand to hand combat Hadhafang was really a horse-riding blade. Always a pleasure to prove you wrong, Zach Perry Perkins..

I own this sword and some others from the LOTR films and none of them have bad craftsmanship at all, the painted runes on my hadhafang are done flawlessly, and the balance of hadhafang is meant to be like that, its a horse riding blade, its front heavy so you can easly whack heads off whilst riding a horse. I think that maybe you guys got a odd bundle but I am very pleased with every UNITED peice I own...

I care not what other people may say about this truely magnificent blade but I will say this I have seen many blades and this is a sword of true beauty such as that of Icingdeath or Twinkle from the Forgotten Realms. ..

Though I doubt my opinion counts for much, I had to comment. I agree and disagree with both my prior reviewers. I love the sword, it is absolutely a stunning piece of artistic weaponry. However, I also was disappointed in the lack of craftsmanship that went into the "painting" of the runes on the blade. Unfortunately, my 10 year old could have done a better job, but it still does not detract from my enjoyment of the piece...
