I got the sword for Christmas with the scabbard. It is a great wall decoration. I do not know why someone would buy a museum collection version. You would need to keep it in good condition, and if you played with it, you might ruin it. It probably has a more accurate handle than Anduril does. Since they're both two-handed weapons, and Anduril has only one leather handle, the hand that's holding the metal would get cold. The sword deserves a hundred stars...

I received the Strider Ranger Sword a week or so ago (shipping was very fast) and the sword is outstanding. It's very solidly built and has a nicely polished blade. A few small scratches or blemishes can be seen near the tip of the blade under close scrutiny, but they're not very noticeable. (Probably from hewing Orc necks.) I could do without the Lord of the Rings logo and copyright info printed on the blade near the hilt, but they're not very intrusive, and perhaps required on "officially licensed" LOTR items. Although the sword is "false-edged" (i.e., not truly sharp), it *looks* sharp, so on display it looks as real as any sword can be. For a false edge, it's not bad. The point of the blade is very sharp, so you have to watch where you point it. I also bought the scabbard (see separate review) and use Renaissance Wax to keep the blade bright. I'm very pleased with this purchase...

I was very surprised when i got this sword. i already had Anduril, Herugrim, sting, Hedafang and Gimlis battle axe but when i got this sword in my hand i immediately understood the medieval warriors obsession with the bastard sword. This is by far the best sword to give a swing a round in your garden, it just feels right. further more i live in Denmark where it is almost impossible to import sword replicas, but with CBSwords it is possible. I have only encountered professional and quick handling and delivery from this webpage. If possible I will always order my swords from CBSwords. Emil Salling Rasmussen Denmark..

I've been a sword collector for many years and when it comes to display swords that I'm proud to have vistors to my home actually hold, this sword tops my list. It is an awesome sword that is beautiful and powerful to look at. This is no whimpy one handed toothpick. This is a sword that you can just see yourself holding back the forces of evil with. If you only get one sword from the Lord of the Rings collection, then get this one. It is THE sword to have on your wall. You won't find one you like better...

After recieving both the sword and the companion scabbard , I am pleased to admit that this is by far the best replica in my LOTR collection, better even than Anduril or Hadhafang. The sword is light for its length, well balanced, well made and looks gorgeous (on the plaque or in the scabbard). The scabbard is a unique accessory that is an absolute must-have for this weapon, no Ranger should be without one! Both make excellent accessories to any LOTR costume, cos-play or Ren-Fest garb. I was NOT disappointed in any way, and CB Swords met all my needs with none of the fuss I have recieved from other dealers...

When is heavier, lighter? In the case of Strider's Ranger Sword. It is longer, heavier, bigger in every way when compared to Theoden's sword, but it seems lighter. It has to do with the balance.Theoden's sword is 30 inches long, and is a one handed short sword. Strider's 36 inch sword has however a much longer two handed hilt, which shifts the balance farther back toward the handle. The difference being that part of the weight is better distributed with the long handle acting as a counter balance to the blade. This blade has a very good balance as such, and does not seem to tire your wrist because of this feature. Its amazing what a good design can do to alleviate the heavier weight, and I am speaking of using it with one hand. With two hands it seems almost a featherweight. Regardless, a great blade...
