Description

Anduril is, by far, the most popular sword from The Lord of the Rings, even beating Sting and Glamdring. This is likely because of the popularity of the Aragorn character and how Anduril is the one sword in the films they really make a big deal out of. It doesn't even really show up until later in the trilogy but when it does show up they dedicate a few scenes to the sword, call it by name, and generally make a big deal about it. The grip design might make you think it is a bastard sword, but it isn't it is too long for that, this is a true two hander, with a relatively narrow blade for a two hander though, but similar to the Scottish Claymore overall.

It is identical in size and shape to Narsil from the Lord of the Rings, but with the addition of a few design enhancements. The story in the books and the movies, if you're not familiar, is that Narsil was shattered by Sauron but then the broken sword was used to cut the One Ring of Power from Sauron's hand, making the sword a bit of a import heirloom, so it was kept, fragmented. Later, when Aragorn was going to reclaim the crown of his ancestors, it was reforged and given to him, at that time it was renamed Anduril and had the runes on the blade and other style enhancements added.

Anduril is the reforged Narsil, and is used by Aragorn, King of Gondor. The inscription down the length of the blade on both sides in the Middle-Earth language of Quenya, written in the runes of Eregion, that say "Nanye Anduril i ne Narsil i macil Elendilo. Lercuvanten i mali Mordoreo." This translates to "I am Anduril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me."

This sword is every bit of majestic as it should be, it is huge! with probably the most detailed handle of all the swords. however as i am a small guy, this sword out scales me, so it's not the best for a swing around in the garden. If you'r only looking for one or two swords from the collection, then please consider this beautiful iconic weapon. This sword is bar none the coolest object I have ever owned. I was a little apprehensive while waiting for the sword to show up, because i have purchased such items before which arrived scratched or with evident shoddy craftsmanship. However, this sword was absolutely perfect. The only flaw I could find was that the inscription on one side of the blade was slightly off center. If you're considering buying this sword, stop thinking and just buy it, you will not be dissapointed. (shipping speed is also quite impressive, however, international customers be wary of duty charges)..

Bought this as an anniversary present for my husband (our first). He is a die-hard LotR fan. fantastic piece, although the amber stones that should be in the hilt were only enamel, and the LOTR logo on the blade spoil it a bit. absolutly no slop in the pommel/grip/hilt assembly and some minor flaws (scratches and such) on the hilt but overall very happy .. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars]

I was a bit worried about ordering my sword online, especially one in as high demand as Anduril. CB Swords told me my sword would be delivered in 5-10 business days. Anduril arrived in 4. It's even better than the pictures show, and this sword is truly amazing. This being my first sword, of many I hope, I'm glad I came to CB Swords to purchase it. It's amazing how different it is to actually hold it in your hands it's very beautiful. This sword and all the others i bought through CB Swords are by far better than my expectations and well worth the money. The only minus is the heavy shipment fee from UPS. Anduril is an AMAZING sword, however, the "new" version is somewhat lacking, palque-wise. I bought the limited edition Anduril (#1505) when they were still reasonably priced around $230 and the plaque is GORGEOUS. The plaque included with this version is not as nice though. I personally recommend buying Narsil instead, because it is the same sword with a nicer plaque. But, in any case, sword construction on ANY version you purchase will NOT disappoint. It is heavy and GLORIOUS. ..

n excellent sword worthy of any sword collector or Lord of the Rings enthusiast! I am a first time buyer of any sword or LOTR prop replica, but I'm sure I'll come back to CB swords again for more LOTR sword related items! The sword I recieved was in perfect condition. No dings or scratches to be found. The Anduril replica seems of good quality steel, and well balanced. My only quibble is with the LOTR film logo and serial # imprinted on the blade itself. However this can be easily over looked considering the excellence in everything else and the size of the "Just a replica" "NOT made in Middle Earth dummy!" label. Thank you CB swords!..

It is a sight to behold! Upon opening the packing you simply stare in wonder at its size, majesty and magnificence. One cannot truly appreciate it from the pictures. I can only imagine what awe the Limited Edition Anduril must have wrought. I would give the sword itself 4 stars only because it is replica quality, but still very well done and well worth the price. I give the entire experience with CB 5 stars! I had my order 3 days after ordering. Outstanding. I will be back for more, guaranteed...

OBSESSED WITH LOTR! My friends and I love this sword! Aside from the nicks and shading (not to worry as it is a result of the antiquing process), and the Officially Liscened LOTR logo, this sword looks exactly like in the movie...It's magical every time my friends and I walk into my room because of it. WOW!!! This is the coolest sword ever! I know I've said that before, but this truly is the best sword! It came really fast, too (once it was in stock, of course!) If you like Lord of the Rings, this is the sword to get! It is huge, but extremely light for its size (forget what Tom Hunjan said!) This is truely a sword made for a king! It is massive, strong, and beautiful all at the same time. You dont really know the sword until you've held it in your hand. I bought Narsil a few months ago. Holding that thing makes you feel like a king, no joke. Its huge. I walk around the house with it eat dinner with it watch tv whith it , if im in the house its probably in my hands. my family thinks im crazy. Theyll never understand:) Anyway im getting all three versions. Just bought the shards cant wait til it comes in. Also gonna get anduril and witch king sword somwhere down the road. If you like LOTR or just collect swords you gotta own one of these enormous things...

FLAWLESS sword! The second I put my hand around it and beheld all 52 7/8 inches of it I knew I had made a wise choice. Anyone who is thinking of getting it needs to stop thinking and go ahead and purchase it. It will be well worth it. After looking it over for a good while I found that it had no defects whatsoever. Yes the handle wrapping is darker than it appears in the pictures but this is quickly overlooked once you get it in your hands. Again, it was flawless. I want to thank CB swords for their awesome customer support and I look forward to doing business with them in the future. I can't wait to get the scabbard for this thing. My only regret was ordering by money order. It took what seemed like forever to clear. Won't be doing that ever again. Thanks CB Swords!..

This sword has probably more orc kills than any other in the trilogy. Anduril is massive with a beauty only worthy of a King. This is also the only sword ever offered with a hollow pommel and hilt. I bought this sword like a year ago. And it is AMAZING!!!!!!!! Everyday i just pick it up off the plack and swing it around! It makes me FEEL LIKE A KING!!! It is an absolutely flawless peice. I got this sword 2 years and I still LOVE it. The moment I opened it I was stunned. The blade is excellent quality and outstanding detail! The plaque is a lovely compliment to it, where it hangs in my living room. The hilt is amazing, with a beautiful cross-guard and pommel and the leather around the handle is very cool! Great piece anyone should get this. (I did when I was in 7th grade) 5 out of 5!!!..

I want to compliment United Cutlery and CBSwords for putting such an incredible piece out on the market. The craftmanship is incredible, really has a good look on the wall. Mine is perfect, not a scratch on it. VERY HEAVY, also on the big side. Feels great to hold and swing, though. Makes you feel very powerful when you show it off to your neighbors! I also really love the stain-work on the pommel, has a good shadow-effect to it. One thing I didn't expect was the quality of the backboard. Exquisite, the grain is impecable and only complements the blade. This is United Cutlery's masterpiece, a must-have for any fan of the Lord of the Rings...

Just got it in this morning and I couldn't be more pleased. Not only was it delivered to me in Ontario in 3 days, but the sword itself is magnificent. I got this sword a couple months ago and am stilled awed by it! The handel and guard are is my favorite part. It is beutifully crafted!
